To Celebrate the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s trip up the Hudson River, Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Josh Aronson spent the past year searching out fascination people and cultures of the Hudson River Valley. He’s made this series of short films for THIRTEEN.

Aldrich

A tour of Rokeby Farm, an old house in Barrytown, NY owned by the Aldrich family since 1688.

Bill Fink’s Kids

A story about a retired gentleman who works for a city program to teach kids to fish at the tip of Manhattan. All the fish go into an aquarium so the kids can see the life that exists under the surface of the water – it’s a great education to instill in them the ethic of sustainability and caretaking of the River.

Goats

At Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island, the National Park Service uses goats as a 100% green method of cutting down harmful vegetation encroaching on the historic structures there.

Ice Breaker
